Our vision

We, the team of Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch e.V., have believed since 1992 that meeting people across cultural borders creates perspectives and opportunities.

The essence of the Balkans Days is transformed into a place of encounter, inspiration, culture and joy. We promote the dialogue between the cultures and lifestyles of all countries on the Balkan Peninsula.

The symbol of the Balkan Days is the Balkan flower. The petals show the individual national flags.  Each unique culture contributes to the diversity and vividness of the Balkans.

Differences make up the fascination of the Balkans, as well as the similarities of the cultures, which form a colorful unity during their interaction.

ABOUT US AND BALKANTAGE

The Balkan Days in Munich encourage the dialogue between the diverse cultures, traditions and lifestyles of all countries on the Balkan Peninsula.

An important element is to bring people from formerly hostile Balkan countries together.

During the Balkans Days, artists, associations and famous people present the cultural diversity of Southeast Europe through films, exhibitions, literature, music, folklore and discussion forums.

The symbolic sign of the Balkan is the Balkan flower. With its petals of the individual national flags, it represents the multifaceted structure of the Balkans with its cultural tradition and multi-faceted history as a colorful unit.

Initiator and designer of the Balkans Days is the association „Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch e.V.“, which was founded in 1992 by Sadija Klepo from Bosnia. Since its foundation the association’s goal was uniting people from the Balkans and other regions of the world.

The diploma journalist Sadija Klepo came up with the idea, conception and realization of the Munich Balkan Days.

Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch e.V. is not just the name of a humanitarian association, but a program of humanity, charity and tolerance for other people, regardless of their circumstances.

In its 25 years of history, the association has developed from an initiative for Bosnian refugees to a humanitarian organization across the borders of Europe.

What began in 1992 with fundraising and aid transports is today a diverse network of activities for children, adolescents, families and the elderly.
